I went to the Friends and Family support group with my parents because a family member had been diagnosed bipolar, That decision change the course of my life forever.
Like so many people in our wonderful organization, MDSG changed my life…In the group that night, I discovered that I wasn’t alone.
MDSG helped me save myself… I was consumed with depression, anxiety and a sense of hopelessness. And then I walked into The Mood Disorders Support Group of New York. That was 1992.
The Mood Disorders Support Group, Inc.’s greatest gift to me is the opportunity to be myself around people who get it. When I share the highs and lows of my bipolar disorder, seeing peers nod in agreement and share a similar story offers a great sense of relief that I’m not alone.
